About the Author
Brian Samuels is the principal of Samuels & Co., a Vancouver construction law firm, and is counsel to the firm of Lee & Associates in Denver, Colorado. Mr. Samuels was admitted to the Bar in British Columbia in 1988 and in Colorado in 1993. He holds a Bachelor of Laws (1987) from the University of Victoria, an MBA (1982) from the University of British Columbia, and a Bachelor of Engineering (Civil, 1978) from McGill University. He has been registered as a professional engineer in British Columbia since 1981.

Mr. Samuels is a construction lawyer, mediator, and arbitrator, as well as author of the textbook Construction Law (Prentice Hall, 1996) and co-editor of the textbook Expert Evidence in British Columbia Civil Proceedings (CLE, 2001). He is an Adjunct Professor in the Civil Engineering department at the University of British Columbia, where he teaches Construction Law.

Overpriced and over simplified; On-line training simply doesn't work

The book is ok, it's structured logically and relatively easy to read. Much of the information is too simplistic to be a great use. The questions with answers at the end of each chapter were a good idea, but mostly the questions are also too simple to be helpful. The book also offers that it comes with access to free on-line training but, alas, I could never make this work. Eight attempts and I surrenders. And the on-line Support is the worst I've encountered on line anywhere. Absolutely worthless. Which I presume is why their Facebook page bars public comments (not allowing feedback is one way to avoid a bad public image, but perhaps not the best way. )
