"How and Why Sam Walton Invented Wal-Mart" is a well-written book. It goes into the early background and hardships of growing up without all of the privileges he left his kids. It shows the opportunities that America once provided a young, poor man to get ahead before mega corporations took control of our economy and government. In my personal opinion his creation is a prime example of why we should retain the inheritance tax and lay it on at turn of generations for a better equalization of wealth for the common good. It is an excellent book that everyone should read even if they don't like the present policies of Wal-Mart.--J. Glenn Evans

Great accompaniment to cello songs, songs sound good on their own as well :)

This book is the piano part to accompany cello for Suzuki Cello volume 1. My son really enjoys having the piano play along when he practices as it adds a fun element to practice time. He asked me to buy this book so his brother can learn the piano parts - I was a bit hesitant as I was thinking it might be a bit too complex but it's not too bad. A few of the pieces have one or two sharps but most have none. There are a lot of repeated notes making the songs easier to learn. My eight year old has been able to master the songs (he has ~ 1 year of piano experience). My book included all the pages (another reviewer had issues with the last song being cut off.)

Missing very last page!

The content is great, but the very last page is missing--probably because in the hard copy it's printed on the inside of the back cover! Unlucky, because I'm trying to accompany a student on Minuet No. 2 and I only have half of the piano part. Disappointing. The rest are in great shape though, hence the 3 stars.

Useful MUST-HAVE for any teacher AND a great, easy read

This book exceeded my expectations. I'm a graduate student getting my Masters -- M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction. I ordered this book because I HAD TO for a class (the class was Teaching for Cross Cultural Communication). BUT I soon realized that this is a must have for my own personal collection! Any teacher worth their weight and who genuinely cares about making sure they are teaching in an inclusive manner and that all students are a part of what is being taught, making sure all students -- from varying races, cultures, backgrounds, socioeconomic statuses, sexual orientations, abilities, etc. -- can not only see but feel that they and their families/interests are a part of the everyday classroom curriculum should own this book. I've been teaching for 6 years and have focused, as most teachers do, on the academic/social/emotional well-being and growth of my students. This book showed me what has been missing from my teaching and it caused me to change the way I teach. Now I still do what I did before BUT I also add elements from this book to ensure I'm recognizing diversity and other cultures.
Another bonus -- this book READS LIKE A GOOD BOOK! Does not at all read like a boring scholarly regurgitation of facts. GREAT EASY READ.
