I'll start this review explaining the background of why I purchased this book. If you just want the review, please scroll down, thank you.

BACKGROUND: My girlfriend wants to travel to Japan someday and is really, really interested in almost everything about Japan. I saw this book and I thought: "Maybe this will give her even more reasons to want to go there" However, I wasn't so sure about the kind of content that I would find within this book (a lot of people have written reviews but to me they seemed very general, sorry). Anyway, my review will try to be more thorough and hopefully someone in my situation will benefit my review so... here goes something.

REVIEW:

INTRODUCTION: Let's start with the external part of the book: The picture in the cover is beautiful, this image shown here doesn't make it justice. It feels and looks fantastic, not too big nor heavy and feels solid. Every single page has information about something! There is not one page that is useless, a lot of content here but... what kind of content you may ask?

CONTENT: You will read about a little about the history, the culture, the maps, the places and the people from Japan. This is meant for traveller's but I assure you even non-travellers will find interesting stuff here. Anything from breakfast manners to how you must behave in specific places such as temples, restaurants, etc. You will read about the major cities and towns but also you will learn about those small events that you would only know if you lived there. Example: There was a section about a certain city that had an all out sell out the 7th of every month since October or something like that. My point: Those kind of small details that you would love to know as a traveller.

This is a very complete guide on how to get to Japan and, depending on how long you stay, what are the "must do" stuff before you leave. Buy this book! You will not regret it.

This is a beautiful and informative book, whether you're planning a trip to Japan, or just dreaming of one. I received this book as a gift, and have spent several delightful hours reading through it. Pick it up, open it to any page, and learn something new.

As you would expect in a National Geographic publication, the photos are spectacular. They capture the lovely landscapes, fascinating street scenes and people of Japan.

The book begins with a brief overview of Japan's history and culture, which gives you enough background to appreciate the travel guides in the following sections.

There are recommendations for a short tour of Japan, and travel suggestions if you can stay longer. There is a detailed section on Tokyo, and short excursions from there. The other regions of Japan look appealing too, with attractions in smaller cities, and out-of-the-way spots to visit.

Throughout the book, author Perrin Lindelauf offers helpful insider tips, such as "Beware high-priced restaurants in Namba hiding behind innocuously marked entrances. Ask to see the menu at the door." Good to know!

Highly recommended as both a travel guide, and a book for your nightstand.

Very well written. Covers all the must-see tourist destinations of Japan and gives historic significance of each of them. Moreover, the history written like a story, making it really enjoyable to read. Since it gives a lot of background story about each place, when you actually visit them they stay in memory forever. I am really glad I read this book before visiting. Has some wonderful pictures too !

Sasha's Best One Yet!

As much as I love Sasha's first 2 coloring books, I didnt think it could be possible-But this is Sasha's Best one yet!!
This is more of an Inspirational Sweary Coloring Book, but it still has the Classy Sassy Sasha vibe that we have all come to know and love!
The designs can easily be colored with colored pencils, gel pens or your favorite markers. The pages are all one sided, and the lineart has a little bit of everything that will appeal to beginners as well as the more advanced. This book is by far one of my All -Time favorites! :)

This book series is my therapy!

I was a big fan of Sasha O'Hara's previous two coloring books, so I was very excited to get a chance at a sneak preview of some of the pages from the new book! I really enjoyed coloring the new designs. I have tried several 'adult' coloring books, and this series is my favorite. The designs are fun and while the language is fun and salty, it isn't cursing for shock value like some books. Coloring has become my therapy and Sasha's books play an important part in that. There was a typo in the first release of the book, which is what I received, but the author was quick to get out the corrected book to Amazon. She even took the time to send the corrected design to those that bought the first version. Very speedy resolution.

Don't let the the title fool you. This coloring book also has inspirational quotes in it. Sasha O'Hara out did herself with this one. It has some feel good pages and some funny pages and some pages that fits your bad moods.

About the Author
Robert Scholes is Research Professor of Modern Culture and Media, Professor Emeritus of English, Comparative Literature, and M.C.M., and Andrew W. Mellon Professor of Humanities Emeritus at Brown University. The author of many works of literary theory and pedagogy, he was President of the Modern Language Association in 2004. The late Robert Kellogg was a professor of English from 1957 until 1967, chairman of the English department from 1974 to 1978, and Dean of the College of Arts & Sciences from 1978 to 1985 at the University of Virginia. He was the first principal of Brown College at Monroe Hill from 1985 to 1999. James Phelan is an internationally recognized expert in narrative theory. He is Humanities Distinguished Professor in the department of English at Ohio State University. He is the editor of the journal Narrative, and author of five books of narrative theory, including Living to Tell About It, and the forthcoming Experiencing Fiction.

I am enjoying this book tremendously. I haven't finished it yet but doubt that some perception of a conclusion as the other reviewer has described will wipe out all that I'm getting from the book as a whole. One of the most digestible books on narrative I've yet read and I've read quite a few now. Most leave me wondering if somewhere along the line my understanding of the English language began seeping out of my brain without my knowledge. There is a lot of narrative history and theory here, as well, as the authorial opinion and the opinions aren't nearly as intrusive as the other reviewer would have it. I only gave it four stars because I haven't finished reading it and it will be a while before I can do so. (Thesis. Ugh!)

The most comprehensive, easy-to-follow, step-by-step guide to finding real solutions to problems I face in business every day. Dettmer has created the definitive guide for applying Goldratt's Logical Thinking Process. The book is loaded with great examples and presents a much more streamlined approach to building the logic trees, including the Current & Future Reality Tree, Conflict Cloud and the Prerequisite and Transition Trees. Additionally, Dettmer introduces and details how to build the most useful tool I've ever used in business, the Intermediate Objective Map, which helps Managers define where they want to be (the goal), to compare against where they are today.

If you really want to find the key leverage points to fundamentally improve your business, this book will give you all the tools you need to achieve your goal.

The absolute best book on Logical Thinking

I own every book Dettmer has written (or co-authored). This is hands down the best. Most thorough. Must own. Ever. Period.

Just skimming the various appendices will amaze! If you did not already know it, building "logic trees" is a lot of work. Hard work. But Dettmer streamlines some of that effort by sharing new insights gained from teaching the Logical Thinking Process for the last ten years. You could say that this revision to Goldratt's Theory of Contraints is at least 25% new material. Maybe as much as 30-35%!

Plus, the material on effecting change is a huge bonus. Talking about Col. John Boyd and his OODA Loop; Jim Collins and Level 5 Leadership (and more), this book is the one Dettmer book to own, if you must limit your spending.

Bill has produced an exquisite update to his earlier works, well recongnized as the definitive source for the logical thinking process. With some new simplifications and very effective process summaries, this book is an essential tool when you have a serious problem to address. Bills clear and concise writing makes the material accessible to all. His personal experiences improving many organizations ensure results.

I wish our politicians could use a process like this to address the systemic problems that plague Washington DC and our nation, such as Health Care. One can only hope...

The Ultimate Guide to the *Shake-speare's Sonnets*.

As Hank Whittemore remarks again and again,
the key to the Elizabethan and Shakespearean mystery
is not mysticism and darkness, but *politics*.

I agree as well with Charles Beauclerk and William and Charles Boyle
when they say, in Chapter 2, that the kernel of the problem
is not Edward de Vere's royal identity, as well as his son
Southampton, but the Virgin Queen's icon, that idol of the
market Bacon warn us about. As they write insightfully,
"for some Oxfordians questioning the Virgin Queen's
virginity is 'an icon too far.'"

This book is for daredevils and freelances that need
the best theory in town to interpret the Sonnets.

Universities and their police are not going to erase,
this time, the identity and tragedy of the poet and his
son. Touchstone warned William so. Time is the daughter
of truth, indeed. Internet and the World Wide Web cannot
be stopped. No barriers. No dogs. Truth is out. Let the

Crumbling Shakespeare Orthodoxy Takes Another Well Presented Volley of Direct Hits

An excellent collection of essays that provide solid, supported facts, not the conjecture and supposition that passes for "orthodox" Shakespearean scholarship. Was Edward De Vere, 17th Earl of Oxford, the real author of the plays and poems attributed to the pen name "William Shake-speare"? Quite possibly. Was the author, in fact, Willelmus Shakspere, commoner, money lender, investor, litigious illiterate crank of Stratford on Avon? Absolutely not. Ignore the lone negative review here, the "reviewer" freely admits to never reading the books he skewers, they being the books that don't conform to his comfortable received knowledge about a man who could barely write his own name being the greatest author in the history of the English language. It takes all kinds.

The Authorship Question is real, the Stratford man's authorship claim is false and "A Poet's Rage" mounts a compelling case in favor of De Vere. Read, be engrossed, decide for yourself.

Finally the truth about Shakespeare (as Earl of Oxford). Enough hard evidence is given in the book to shame those who do not honor Edward De Vere for his achievement. How can you understand the Sonnets and the epic poems and the plays...if you dont first understand who Shakespeare is??? Book is a must!
